HOPE STARTS HERE STORIES

Lanfen

Lanfen began to share about her life after our team visited her family. She shared how her grandma was brought from a neighboring country to serve in the red light district, and her son lived with Lanfen's mother. Lanfen's mother left them alone with their grandma and ran away with another man after years of sex slavery. Since then, Lanfen and her brother have been living with their handicapped grandma in the red-light area. These children had no protection or resources, so our team offered to provide Lanfen with an education. Lanfen soon joined our school, where she began to learn and grow. But after some months, her grandmother came took Lanfen from school, and stopped sending her to our center but our team continued to pray for her and her family. Small Lanfen was forced to cook food and care for her grandma and her brother. The next time we saw her, we found her crying on the street with her small hands burned. After so much prayer, we were able to convince her grandma to surrender her to our care, where she is now back in school. Today, she is eight years old and a safe and happy little girl.
