Rescue & Restore exists to train individuals and equip churches to minister to those who have been sexually exploited so that they might find dignity, healing, and a new life in Christ.
This certificate program was developed by Project Rescue in partnership with Continental Theological Seminary and allows you to interact with experienced practitioners currently working in this area of ministry.

The needs of traumatized victims of sexual exploitation, especially children, are immense.

In the 21st century, one of the most tragic forms of global injustice is the sexual exploitation and trafficking of women, men, and children.
This evil has multiplied exponentially in our world, thriving in areas of poverty, civil war, ethnic conflict, and immigration. The needs of traumatized victims of sexual exploitation – especially children – are immense.
But Christ’s very purpose in coming to earth was to bring hope, healing, and new life. His mission includes victims of sexual exploitation; therefore, this global tragedy is both a responsibility and opportunity for the Church to become knowledgeable of victims’ needs and develop biblical holistic strategies to minister Christ’s love.
Project Rescue and Continental Theological Seminary in Brussels, Belgium invite you to participate in a certificate training program specific to this need and opportunity that lies before the Church.
Project Rescue is a ministry in central and southern Asia, Europe, and Africa with 25 years of experience in ministering transformational aftercare to victims of sexual exploitation.
Continental Theological Seminary (CTS) is an accredited Pentecostal seminary training ministers and missionaries to fulfill God’s mission in the context of an integrated theology and practice.

This course is an introduction into the study of sex trafficking and understand the role of churches. This course will assist in understanding the victim/survivor centered approach, providing trauma informed care, review of complex trauma, understanding the stages of change, resiliency and the importance of partnerships. This course will also provide an overview of the importance and impact of local churches in the community and provide an onramp for applying best practice standards for Christian ministries.

Trauma Intervention & Counseling Skills for Non-Professional Counselors
104 Course Description
This course is specifically designed for workers without training in mental health/trauma counseling. During this course you will gain a deeper understanding of the neuroscience of traumatic experiences. Recognize the most common psychological presentations in survivors of sexual exploitation. Learn basic individual and group counseling skills and evidenced-based trauma interventions, and learn ways to assess and manage your quality of life as a caregiver so that Burnout and Secondary Traumatic Stress is limited. Special presenters in this course will also cover spiritual issues with trauma recovery, the impacts of shame on survivors of sexual exploitation, and the use of creativity in healing from trauma and sexual exploitation.

This course will seek to provide students with a foundational understanding of organizational leadership in the context of cross-cultural Christian ministry to the sexually exploited. This purpose of this course is two-fold: it will provide students with the opportunity to explore specific socio-cultural aspects of sexual exploitation and ministry to survivors that are often overlooked, and to encourage review and integration of previous course content into the development of holistic transformational ministry to the sexually exploited for their own cultural context based on core values, best practice, and sound Pentecostal theology.
