Abiba

When Abiba was sixteen years old, her mother died and her father kicked her out of her home. Alone and afraid, a family friend told her she could get a job if she traveled with him to Northern Africa. Abiba was told by her prospective boss, “You will live a life like my daughter.”

Instead, Abiba was forced into sexual slavery, beaten and raped continually. One man, who appeared to be kind, offered her a job in his home to escape her captor. When she arrived, however, the man began abusing her again. When she asked authorities and her family for help, no one would believe what she said. Abiba is currently seeking hope and working with our team in North Africa to gain her freedom from the bondage of sexual slavery.
