Project Rescue has partnered with New Beginings since 2022.
New Beginnings in Indonesia has impacted 2,210 lives since our partnership began in 2022! In 2024 they hosted trafficking awareness conferences for the surrounding districts and churches. In 2025, the ministry grew by over 500% and expanded its parenting program. This program prepares parents to receive their child back and care for their needs as a trauma survivor. Our partners have a huge heart for every survivor, boy or girl, and they are intentional about bringing hope to every survivor.

Creating a culture of awareness by educating families in high-risk areas and providing residential care programs.
Community Development
Our partner hosts parenting classes that offer legal counsel for the parents of survivors within the home. This prepares the parents to receive their child back and care for their needs as trauma survivors.
Prevention/Awareness
Our partners do outreach to educate on the signs and dangers of exploitation and trafficking. In 2025, New Beginnings was able to share its vision with 395 Indonesian AG women, pastors, and church leaders.
Meet Maya
To protect her identity and safety, Maya is an alias.
After sixth grade, Maya should have been preparing for junior high. Instead, unpaid school fees kept her diploma out of reach. With few options available to her, she began working in karaoke cafés, where she was exploited and trafficked across the Asia Pacific region.
Maya was 16 when a police raid brought her to New Beginnings, a Project Rescue partner. She arrived guarded and distrustful—and understandably so. Even after reaching a place of care, authorities pressured her to report on the home’s location and religious activities. Yet, through patient and consistent care, Maya slowly began to believe that the people around her truly wanted her to be safe.
She also received urgently needed medical care and learned she was living with advanced HIV. With treatment, counseling, and ongoing support, her health improved dramatically. Today, the virus is nearly undetectable.
As Maya prepared to leave New Beginnings at 18, she chose to continue her journey at a partner home for adults. There, she pursued her education, earned an international barista certification, and developed skills working in a salon. She also made a personal decision to follow Jesus.
Then someone from her past contacted her with an invitation to return to the life she had escaped. Maya said no. She recognized that she finally had the opportunity to build a future—and she chose it.
Today, Maya works with Youth With A Mission (YWAM). Her story is not defined by what was done to her. It is a story of courage, healing, faith, and a young woman reclaiming the right to shape her own future.
