HOPE STARTS HERE STORIES

Svetlana

She was a single mom trying her best to support her young son.

We first met Svetlana on the streets of Northern Europe.

Like many of the women we see in the red-light district who come from Eastern Europe, she had been lured from her home through the promise of a good job

But, soon after arriving, she found that the person who had promised her work had actually been paid to deliver her to a pimp in the red-light district

She was beaten, and her legal documents were taken. She was forced to sell her body day after day.

But Svetlana had the courage to reach out to the police, and her trafficker was arrested after she testified against him.

But she couldn’t get her legal document back. Svetlana soon found herself without money or the correct legal status to get a work permit in Northern Europe.

She didn’t know where to turn and was forced to go back to the red-light district, as it was the only way she knew to make money to provide for her son.

They would often come into the Project Rescue partner ministry center, but Svetlana was angry about her situation and after her experiences in the red-light district, struggled to trust our partner’s team

Eventually, she was able to leave prostitution and find a job that could support herself and her son. Our team continued to support and encourage her, often inviting her and her son to our homes.

Over time, the transformation we have seen take place in both Svetlana’s and her son's life has been incredible. She is finding hope, finding peace, and believing there is a future for her and her son.

Pray for the women like Svetlana and her children who are seeking rescue andrestoration!
