Pravin was born in a small village in Southern Asia, where his family struggled to put a single meal on the table.

When debts grew too heavy, his parents sent him away to lessen the load, and he found himself on crowded streets, scavenging scraps and sleeping in abandoned buildings. Each dawn arrived with uncertainty, and he grew accustomed to blending into the crowds, invisible to those passing by.

But one rainy morning, a local partner’s outreach worker noticed Pravin shivering by the marketplace. She offered him a warm meal and a listening ear, and soon invited him to our partner’s home, where he discovered safety and care. The partner’s team provided meals, uniforms, and textbooks, ensuring he could focus on his studies.

At the academy, Pravin arrived shy and cautious, haunted by memories of hunger. His first day of classes brought tears as he realized a simple pencil could unlock worlds he had never known.

Teachers encouraged his curiosity, and classmates welcomed him as a friend. With each lesson, Pravin found confidence blossoming where fear once lived.

He learned to read and write in both his native language and English; arithmetic revealed patterns and solutions, reminding him that challenges could be overcome.

Now, Pravin stands among his peers as a shining example of God’s power to transform lives. His eyes light up when he talks about solving equations or crafting stories, and he dreams of becoming a teacher who can guide children like him.

Through our partner’s team, he also learned about compassion and community, and he has begun tutoring younger students after school.

Education has given him purpose and a path forward, replacing isolation with community. In the quiet moments, Pravin kneels in gratitude, trusting that each day is a gift of restoration and hope.
