Happy Horizons is dedicated to rescuing and transforming the lives of sexually trafficked children in the Philippines. This ministry exists to create a safe place for exploited and vulnerable children to heal and grow. They impact the lives of around 5,000 individuals every year through our partner’s various initiatives, including feeding programs, vocational training, aftercare homes, formal education, prevention awareness programs, and income generation programs.

Project Rescue has partnered with Happy Horizons since 2022.

Women's Home and a Girls' Home

Happy Horizons' safe homes are places of refuge. Where survivors of sexual exploitation begin their journey toward healing. Beyond shelter, they offer counseling, education, and a supportive community.

Formal Schools

Happy Horizons schools give rescued children a chance to dream again. Each classroom strives to break the cycles of exploitation through education, life skills, and emotional support, taking a step closer to freedom and a brighter future.

Vocational Training

These training programs include cooking, childcare, wind chimes, and bags, plus other skills that girls and young women can master and monetize to earn income. This program fosters self-confidence, independence, and financial responsibility.

Meet Shaina

Shaina arrived at Happy Horizon’s Children Ranch (HHCR) as a teenager, carrying the trauma of years of abuse by her father. Even more heartbreaking, her mother knew what was happening but stayed silent—afraid that speaking out would leave her alone to care for four children with no support.

The situation escalated when Shaina became pregnant by her father. Friends and neighbors finally intervened, reporting the abuse to authorities. Shaina and her siblings were rescued and brought to HHCR, and a legal case was filed. Their father spent the rest of his life in prison.

In the midst of this painful season, Shaina made the courageous decision to place her baby up for adoption, hoping to offer her child a better life. She focused on rebuilding her own by finishing high school and earning a degree in elementary education.

Today, Shaina is a beloved teacher at a local school. She’s married, a mother of four, and known for her deep compassion—especially for children who have endured trauma.

Through her faith, Shaina has discovered her worth and healing. The same love that transformed her life now flows through her, offering hope to the next generation.
