Neetu was just 17 when she was sold to a brothel in the red-light district. With her father gone and an elderly mother to care for, she was left with no support and no choices.

For nearly 23 years, she lived in that reality.

Then came the Covid-19 lockdown. For 70 days, everything stopped. She had no income, no food, and nowhere to turn. But that crisis opened a door she never expected.

A Project Rescue partner saw the needs of the community and the Forever Free project began. Neetu came to our campus thin, so tired, and asking for help. She wasn’t alone. Many others arrived that same week, hoping for a chance to start again.

We welcomed her with warmth, care, and dignity. She was given rest, safety, and the opportunity to rebuild. Slowly, her strength returned.

Neetu is living proof that freedom is possible, even after years of silence. She is no longer just surviving. She is truly thriving. There are moments when she remembers her life in the red-light district, how much money she made, the lies that life holds, and she asks our partners to pray with her, that she can stand against those lies. 

Today, Neetu is a full-time member of our team. She works with purpose, lives with self-respect, and is surrounded by community. For the first time in decades, her life is defined by joy, not fear.
