Carmen spent years trapped in a nightmare—trafficked, abused, and forgotten by the world. The darkness she endured seemed endless, and hope felt like something that belonged to someone else. But even then, God had not forgotten her.

When Carmen arrived at a Project Rescue partner’s safe home, everything began to change. Instead of judgment, she was met with open arms. Instead of fear, she found peace. In this place of refuge, Carmen received more than just safety—she found love, dignity, and a path toward healing. Slowly, through trauma counseling, daily support, and the presence of a caring community, she began to believe that her life could be rebuilt.

Through God’s grace and the encouragement of those around her, Carmen enrolled in a vocational program and excelled in hotel catering, cleaning, and room service. These were more than just job skills—they were tools for independence, stepping stones to confidence, and signs that a new future was truly possible.

And then, something extraordinary happened.

Carmen joined the staff of the very safe home where she had once been a resident. With compassion born of lived experience, she now cares for other women walking the same road she once did. Her presence brings strength and hope, her story a constant reminder that change is possible. Beyond the walls of the home, Carmen boldly goes back into the very neighborhoods she once feared, reaching out to women still caught in exploitation, offering them what she was once given: a way out.

Today, Carmen is thriving—restored, equipped, and walking in purpose. Her life testifies to the power of God’s love to rescue, restore, and redeem.
