Fifty years ago, our nation was moved by a speech that continues to resonate in our hearts today. On August 28th, 1963, Martin Luther King Jr. stood on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial and delivered his iconic “I Have a Dream” speech in which he declared, “I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of it’s creed . . . that all mean are created equal.”

Today as we remember the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr., we also remember the millions of women and children trapped in the injustice of sexual slavery. We too have a dream that they will experience restoration and new life through the love and power of Jesus Christ.

Our prayer today is “Let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream!” –Amos 5:24
