Funny moment with your youth group?

Before Nik and I were married, he took the seniors on a trip to Six Flags. They stayed up the night before playing spades and were completely exhausted the next morning. So, Nik decided to get some food from Hardee's and grab a few Red Bulls from a gas station before heading to the park. After just one ride, Nik started feeling sick. He ended up in the nurse's station for the entire day. And to add insult to injury, they got a flat tire on the way home!

Don't try this

How have you been impacted by your students?

It has been awesome to see our students grab ahold of a cause like Project Rescue. Our students have been deeply impacted by what Project Rescue does for women and children that are forced into sexual slavery. We have never been more proud of our students -seeing them meet and exceed their goals in order to make a difference in the lives of the women and children in Nagpur.

What would you like to say to other youth groups around the world?

Everyone has something to give. We are learning more and more that we have the capabilities to reach others in an impacting way. Give of your time, give of your money, give of your resources - give of yourself. Its what we were called to do.

How have your students been involved with the ministry of Project Rescue?

Our students raised money to help the women and children of Project Rescue. To raise money we hosted a bake sale at the church and a "Mom's Day Out" babysitting day. We also encouraged individuals to make commitments (and turn them in on a card). Some saved their allowance, others set aside some money from their part time jobs. The commitment card was a great way to help keep them accountable and not lose sight of the compassion they felt for these women and children on our Project Rescue night.
